May 11–15, 2020: What to Cook Using 10 Ingredients

Every pantry and fridge should contain some basic ingredients. By making sure you have them stocked, you can cook a range of dishes on a moment’s notice, without having to head to the grocery store. During this time of uncertainty where you have to limit your travels, we value recipes that require few ingredients!

The weekly menu below features five meals made with the following 10 ingredients:

  • potatoes
  • eggs
  • onions
  • garlic
  • canned tomatoes
  • pasta
  • cheese
  • canned tuna
  • bread (that you can make yourself!)
  • legumes and pulses

Monday: Pasta with Tomato Sauce

It’s as simple as it gets! A basic tomato sauce: onion, garlic and canned whole tomatoes, for a delicious pasta dish. Add some tuna for a thicker sauce and a boost of protein.

Tuesday: Potato and Onion Frittata

Open the fridge and let inspiration take over. Pair this tasty frittata with a few vegetables that are hanging around in the fridge, sauté them, and you’ve got a filling meal.

Wednesday: Potato and Tuna Croquettes with Pickle Sauce

For those days when you can’t muster up the energy to cook, these tasty and tender croquettes definitely pass the test. They’re ready in just a few twists of the can opener!

Thursday: Potato Gnocchi

Unleash the chef inside you with this recipe! Far from complicated to make, this gnocchi recipe is a good opportunity to dig out that bag of potatoes from the back of the cupboard.

Friday: French Onion Soup (The Best)

We’re not reinventing the wheel with this soup. All we want is a meal that has been slowly simmered, topped with oodles of cheese and featuring melt-in-your-mouth onions.
