8 Recipes for a Global Gourmet Christmas

As we finally get a taste for travelling again, why not offer your guests a menu inspired by flavours from around the world this holiday season? here are 8 recipes that will delight everyone at the table.

1. Stuffed Peppers with Walnut Sauce (Chiles en Nogada)

Head to Mexico with a dish that shows off the colours of the nation’s flag, and in perfect harmony with the flavours of the season. Peppers are stuffed with a sweet and savoury mix of ground pork, fruit and spices and served with a rich walnut sauce, topped with pomegranate seeds and crumbled cheese. Delicious and festive!

2. Panettone (The Best)

This traditional dessert from Italy goes hand-in-hand with the holiday season. This recipe is a simplified version that rivals the fluffiest and tastiest panettones on the market.

3. Traditional Fruitcakes

Rich and dense, British Christmas cake is the origin of the traditional fruitcake served during the holiday season. Its preparation requires time: The cake improves by being regularly brushed with alcohol for a month—so make it well in advance!

4. Chicken and Mozzarella Croquetas

Want bites to serve as an aperitif? We draw inspiration from Spanish cuisine by offering these croquettes made with potatoes, chicken and cheese. Make them ahead of time (frying smells are not great when guests arrive!) and freeze them, then simply reheat on a baking sheet in the oven and serve with sundried tomato mayonnaise.

5. Cherry Trifle (Zuppa Inglese Con Ciliegie)

With cherry season well over, rely on frozen ones to make this Italian version of trifle. The fruit is mixed with a spicy syrup made with alcohol and orange juice, and is completed with a mascarpone cream and cookie filling, presented in a pretty glass serving bowl.

6. Coq au Vin (The Best)

Coq au vin is a French classic that fits perfectly in a holiday menu. It is one of those simmered dishes great for entertaining. A cold-weather comfort recipe, our coq au vin was created to be the best version ever!

7. Plum Pudding

This cake filled with dried fruit (apricots, dates, raisins) is at the heart of Christmas celebrations in England. It keeps very well at room temperature and is best steamed and topped with a thick brandy sauce that gives it a glistening shine. In order for it to properly soak in alcohol, make it at least a week before serving.

8. Mango Syllabub

Syllabub is a traditional British dessert made from cream and sweet wine. This fragrant version with mango purée and white wine can be assembled at the last minute, just before serving it at your festive table.

While travelling around the world at the table is always enjoyable, here are some traditional Christmas recipes for those who prefer to stick to the classics.
