October 26 to 30, 2020: Halloween Recipes to Enjoy This Week

Halloween is going to look quite different this year. If trick-or-treating has been cancelled in your community, make the spooky holiday a week-long affair at home instead! We’ve got a selection of ghoulish and delicious recipes to try. Happy Halloween!

Monday: Squid Ink Noodle Soup

What makes this vegetable and udon noodle soup so scary? The addition of squid ink, making your ingredients look as if they’re floating in a dark abyss! Plus, it adds a brininess to the dish that is, ahem, to die for!

Tuesday: Beet, Carrot and Black Bean Salad

Drop a serving plate with this salad on the dinner table, and watch everyone gobble it up. Witchcraft, you say? No: Vegetables with beans and dried fruit are just simply delicious! Plus, the black-orange-yellow colour scheme is very autumnal and fitting for Halloween.

Wednesday: Sweet Potato Fingers

The family will get a kick out of these witch fingers, er, we mean sweet potato sticks! Sweet and salty thanks to a coating of brown sugar and spices, these fries are the side dish if you’re having burgers or steak for dinner tonight.

Thursday: Spicy Meatballs with Cheese Sauce

What’s for dinner? These monstrous meatballs topped with an oozing cheese sauce! We add yellow and red food colouring to ensure the sauce is a deeper orange colour.

Friday: Spider Web Cupcakes

It’s Friday night; we’re giving you permission to skip cooking and support a local restaurant by ordering out instead. Use that time you would’ve been making dinner to spend it with the kids, planning the following day’s candy hunt or haunted house in the living room or backyard, prepping their costumes and then baking these spider web cupcakes. Creepy and absolutely yummy!
