  1. In a large skillet, brown the meat, onion, bell pepper and spices in the oil. Season with salt and pepper. Add the tomato paste and garlic and cook for 1 more minute, stirring constantly. Add the remaining ingredients except the buns and cheese and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Adjust the seasoning.
  2. Toast the buns in a grill pan. Place on 4 plates.

Note

If you’re cooking on Sunday, make the sauce and reheat it just before dinner on Tuesday.
