Maple Ham Omelet
1 egg
3 tablespoons (45 ml) chopped ham
2 tablespoons (30 ml) grated cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon (5 ml) maple syrup
Salt and pepper
Tomato and Pesto Omelet
1 egg
2 tablespoons (30 ml) diced tomato
2 tablespoons (30 ml) grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) pesto
1/2 green onion, chopped (optional)
Salt and pepper
Preparation
Two omelets, one method
In a shallow bowl, with a fork, combine all the ingredients of the omelet you have chosen. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook the omelet in the microwave oven for 1 minute. The centre of the omelet should still be soft. With a spatula, release the omelet from the rim of the bowl. It is then ready to be eaten. You can fold it in half if you want to make a sandwich.
