Garlic and Cheese Spread
- ½ block (125 g) cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup (55 g) butter, softened
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp jalapeño chili pepper, seeded and finely chopped
Bread
- 1 large plain hamburger bun or kaiser roll, halved horizontally

Preparation

Garlic and Cheese Spread
- In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, butter, garlic, parsley and jalapeño. The garlic and cheese spread will keep for 1 week in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let sit out at room temperature before using.
Bread
- Preheat a mini electric sandwich maker for 5 minutes.
- Cover the bottom of the bun with 3 tbsp (45 ml) of the garlic and cheese spread. Close with the top of the bun.
- Place the sandwich in the sandwich maker. Close the machine and cook for 4 minutes or until the bread is nicely browned. Cut into strips. Serve with spaghetti or soup, if desired.
