How to Make a Sauce Taste Less Salty

You’ve finished cooking your sauce and upon tasting, you realize that it’s much too salty. How do you fix it? There isn’t a miracle trick to it (no, adding sugar isn’t the answer), but here is a quick tip that’ll allow you to reduce the taste of salt.

Thinning out a sauce is the best way to reduce the quantity of salt to suit your taste. For a tomato sauce, you can mix it with equal parts of unsalted tomato sauce. If it’s a cream-based sauce, simply add cream to your liking. If it’s a chicken broth-based sauce, add some salt-free broth or even water.

And now, your sauce has been saved and is ready to use!
