Step 1
Start by shaking the bag to loosen up the flour inside. It’s a good way to ensure you’re not scooping up tightly packed flour.
Step 2
Then gently spoon the flour into your measuring cup.
Step 3
Finally, take a knife and skim it across the top of the measuring cup to level it out.
A few tips
- What not to do: Avoid dunking your measuring cup directly into the bag of flour. Doing so will compress the flour in the cup, so you’re sure to get the incorrect amount of flour.
- For best results: If you have a kitchen scale, use it! It’s by far the most accurate way to measure out flour, as it weighs it to the nearest gram.
