December 7-11, 2020: A Traditional Weekday Menu

Tradition is very important to us, especially during these times. It evolves over generations and adapts to all situations and sauces (even pandemic sauces!). That’s why this week we’ve created a menu that puts tradition at the forefront: familiar dishes that will warm the heart.

Monday: Crustless Salmon Pie

Oh, the comfort of salmon pie! All you need to discover the goodness of this traditional dish is a rolling pin, canned salmon, mashed potatoes and a creamy bechamel sauce. Or, for a simplified version, try this crustless recipe.

Tuesday: Pressure Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

A classic spaghetti sauce does a world of good for the whole family. Simple and easy to throw together, this pressure cooker version gives you all the deep flavours of a long-simmered sauce without the lengthy cook time—and that’s exactly what you want for a weeknight!

Wednesday: Chicken Pot Pie (The Best)

A meal with that traditional flavour and that makes you excited for the holiday season? Tonight, you’re making the best chicken pot pie! Carrots, celery, peas—these ingredients are made for each other. And while you’re rolling out dough and making that filling, you might as well make at least two: One for tonight, and the other in the freezer for your holiday feast later.

Thursday: Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Being in control of your work-from-home schedule has its advantages! Between two or three loads of laundry, a Zoom meeting and email follow-ups, it’s the perfect time to start the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner. In a double dose of slow food and nostalgia, this recipe will fill the house with the most comforting aromas, just in time for the kids as they get home from school.

Friday: Hearty Soup with Quinoa and Pork Meatballs

It’s Friday, and we’re making...a meal-sized soup with meatballs! These elements come together for the happiest of comfort combinations: warm, satisfying and filling. Have a great weekend!

Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding in a Cup

Want to calm that sugar craving? Try this sticky toffee pudding! A classic reinvented for a single serving; if you’re looking to please more than one mouth, simply multiply the ingredients by the number of cups you want to prepare...and it’s done!
