jalapeño poppers are a Tex-Mex dish consisting of hot peppers stuffed with cheese. In collaboration with Philadelphia, we took this idea and instead placed cream cheese and cheddar on phyllo dough and made triangular bites. Chopped jalapeños are included for added heat. These hors d’oeuvres are sure to spice up any party.

Note from Ricardo

Philadelphia Cream Cheese works perfectly in this spicy filling. It holds up well during cooking with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while its mild acidity balances out the turnovers.

For turnovers with just the right amount of heat, remove the seeds from one jalapeño and leave the seeds of the second one. This will give you the signature jalapeño popper flavour.

Once cooked and cooled, you can reheat the turnovers at 350°F (180°C) for 5 to 8 minutes. You can also freeze the cooked turnovers and then reheat them at 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes or until the filling is warm.
