To make these croquettes, in collaboration with Kraft Dinner, we were inspired by arancini, but replaced the rice with mac and cheese for an irresistibly cheesy version. All you need to do is prepare the boxed pasta and add some grated Tex-mex cheese, and then shape into balls. Coat them in a breading made of panko breadcrumbs and bacon before frying. Serve them with a sour cream- and jalapeño-based sauce for a spicy kick with every bite.

Note from Ricardo

Kraft Dinner Original macaroni is perfect for making these gourmet croquettes. Deliciously creamy and easy to prepare, its iconic flavour plays a starring role in this crunchy snack.

The macaroni croquettes can also be cooked in an air fryer. In this case, add 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil to the breadcrumb mixture at step 4. Place the croquettes evenly spaced out in the basket of the air fryer. Cook for 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C) or until golden, turning them over halfway through.

Once cooked, the croquettes can be refrigerated or frozen. If refrigerated, they can be reheated in an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes or in an air fryer for 10 minutes at the same temperature. Add 5 minutes of cooking time if the croquettes are frozen.
