Braised Beef Lasagna

  1. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Rinse in cold water and oil lightly. Set aside.

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the mushrooms and onion in the oil. Add the zucchini and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Shred the beef on a clean surface. Add to the cooking juices. Set aside.
  3. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  4. Spread 1/4 of the meat mixture on the bottom of a 23 x 33-cm (9 x 13-inch) baking dish. Cover with a layer of noodles. Add another quarter of the meat mixture and top with 150 ml (2/3 cup) cheese. Cover with a layer of noodles. Cover with the vegetables and 150 ml (2/3 cup) cheese. Cover with a layer of noodles. Add another 1/4 of the meat mixture and 150 ml (2/3 cup cheese). Finish with a layer of noodles and the remaining meat mixture and cheese.
  5. Bake uncovered until the cheese is browned, about 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Note

You can prepare the lasagna on Sunday and cook it on Monday or Tuesday.
