Preparation

  1. Preheat the gas grill, setting the burners to low.
  2. In a bowl, combine the onions, oil and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Place the onions in the centre of a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Fold up the sides and crimp the edges to make a tightly sealed packet. Grill until the onions are tender, about 45 minutes.
