Asian-Style Quinoa Salad

  1. In a bowl, cover the quinoa with cold water and rub it with your hands. Drain and repeat until the water runs clear. In a saucepan, cook the quinoa in plenty of salted boiling water for 15 minutes. The grains should be al dente. Rinse the quinoa under cold running water and drain well. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.


Quinoa has become a very fashionable grain. Like pasta, it is cooked in salted boiling water. You buy quinoa primarily in natural food stores or the natural foods section of your supermarket. When cooked, the small yellowish grains burst in your mouth like caviar.
