  1. In a small glass, pour the dark rum and cane syrup. Top with a lime wedge and crush with a pestle in the glass. If desired, add ice.

Note

If you can’t find cane syrup, replace it by melting 10 ml (2 tsp) of cane sugar or granulated sugar in 5 ml (1 tsp) of very hot water. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and refrigerate until completely chilled before using.
