- In a small food processor or personal blender, purée the strawberries and sugar until smooth. Pour into a bowl. Add the chia seeds and mix well. Pour into an airtight container or sterilized jar. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. The spread will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator.
White chia seeds work well because they look like strawberry seeds. While black chia seeds work just as well to thicken the spread, the final result will have less of a visual effect than if you use white seeds.
