Herb and Chili Pepper Sauce (Zhoug)

  • Makes 1 cup (250 ml)



  1. In a blender, purée all of the ingredients into a fairly smooth paste.
  2. Transfer to an airtight container. The zhoug will keep for 3 days in the refrigerator. Delicious served with white fish or with our corncob papillote with spice butter.


Zhoug is a Middle Eastern condiment that is a great topping for grilled meat and fish dishes.
