4 Bubbly Wines to Enjoy This Summer

Summer and sparkling wines go hand in hand, which is why we’re recommending four products that’ll be a feature of your dinner table out on the patio. We’re also pairing each bottle with a tasty recipe recommendation; we’ve got your seasonal dinners covered.

1. Pet Nat, Château de cartes

CANTONS-DE-L’EST, QUEBEC, 2023 – $19.95

This natural sparkling wine, made with Frontenac Gris and Sainte-Croix grape varieties, will charm you with its floral and citrusy notes. Its mineral touch and well-balanced acidity make for a fresh proposition, which will find its place at any table with a simple meal, like our shrimp po’boy sandwich.

2. Sant’Agata, Paltrinieri

ITALY, 2023 – $23.50

Lambrusco, a Northern Italian appellation from the Emilia-Romagna region, is also the name of the grape varietal found in this bottle. This type of wine is normally red and has a light sweetness, but here, it’s a rosé and quite dry. Light and with a good acidity, it’s perfect as an aperitif alongside mini bell peppers stuffed with halloumi cheese.

3. Elle est pas bulle, la vie ?

DOMAINE CATHERINE ET PIERRE BRETON, FRANCE – $27.55

With its apple, pear, honey and brioche aromas, this sparkling wine has a name that suits it well. This blissful chenin blanc is perfect at brunch or to accompany a dessert, like a peach and apricot trifle, during a leisurely evening on the patio.

4. Dopolavoro, Corvezzo Wine

VENETO, ITALY – $15.30

For something surprising, there’s this red frizzante wine, made from merlot. With its fresh berry and rose notes, as well as a low alcohol content (10.5%), it’ll pair nicely with bacon-wrapped hot dogs. It’s a well-balanced and delicate semi-sparkling offering.
