1. Asian-style marinade

Asian cuisine skillfully blends sweet, salty and spicy flavours. Key ingredients include soy sauce, rice vinegar and sambal oelek. Brown sugar or honey is often used for added sweetness, such as in this Asian-style marinade.

2. Fruity marinade

Pork tenderloin pairs well with the taste of many fruits. The ideas are endless: apples, figs, clementines, cranberries. You can simply add fruit juice to your marinade or, for a quick marinade, you can even glaze pork tenderloin with a fruit sauce at the end of the cooking process.

Marination duration
  • • When it comes to a liquid marinade, allow between 30 minutes and 8 hours of refrigeration time. The longer the pork tenderloin marinates, the more flavourful it will be.

  • • You can even freeze pork tenderloin in marinade. While thawing, it’ll absorb the flavours and you’ll have a quick meal on a weeknight.

3. Sweet marinade

Honey, maple syrup and caramel all can make pork tenderloin completely irresistible. They also provide the meat with some beautiful caramelization. And bonus: Sweet marinades are sure to win the hearts of any children at the table.

4. Herby marinade

If you’ve got an excess of herbs or a few branches cut from your garden, you can whip up quite the fresh marinade. Simply combine oil with the herbs and some optional garlic for an extremely easy-to-make marinade, like this Italian-inspired version.

5. Dry rub

You’ll get lots of flavour, and fast, by rubbing pork tenderloin with a spice blend, ground coffee or dried herbs. You can even cook the meat immediately after coating it, such as with our basic dry rub.
